This years Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity Bike Ride from London to Cambridge will take place on Sunday 28th July. It is one of the biggest and most iconic events in the UK cycling calendar.
Entry to the ride costs £20 per person or £19.50 for teams of six or more. Contact the Active Events Team on activeevents@breakthrough.org.uk or 020 7280 4289 for more information.
Skedaddle will be there supporting the event and we’ll also be giving away a free UK road cycling weekend or mountain bike weekend (worth £300!) to the biggest fundraiser – a great incentive to do that bit extra for this worthwhile charity!
The Route: Starting from North-East London, the London to Cambridge bike ride will have you cycling 60 miles (96km) along quiet country lanes, past rolling green fields, and idyllic small towns as you pedal to the big finish in Cambridge.
The End: At the finish line, there’s plenty for your supporters and spectators to do and see, including live music, refreshments and the chance to see you cross the finish line and collect your medal.
Suitability: This is a fantastic challenge for beginners, commuters and pros alike, so join Team Breakthrough pledge to raise £100, get pedalling and have a positive impact on Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s work.
The Pennies and Pounds : Breakthrough doesn’t receive any of your bike ride entry fee so your sponsorship is vital, but as a thank you, everybody who raises money for Breakthrough will receive a medal at the end of the ride. Those who raise over £300 will receive an exclusive hot pink Breakthrough cycling jersey. Alternatively if you like the look of them (they are very nice!!!!) these can be purchased for just £30.00 – Bargain!!!
