Holiday Information

A great place to place cross-country mountain bike journey in Portugal that follows remote trails and old Roman tracks all spliced together with rocky singletrack, as we traverse from south to north.
Meandering along the border with Spain riding through fascinating ancient villages, each day offers a different selection of challenges including long climbs and tricky technical sections. We begin our biking amongst the granite landscapes of Marvão.
In this land of wild boar and deer we pass through stunning medieval and Roman villages including the stunning Monsanto. Our initial route sees us travelling through immense eucalyptus forests, past small lagoons crowded with wild birds to finally reach the granite landscapes of the northeast.
Descending from Monsanto, we make our way to the mountains of Malcata and after a challenging climb we are rewarding with outstanding views of undisturbed wilderness.
The route then flattens to our final destination Almeida the walled town, a jewel in this immense plateau.
In addition to stunning mountain biking the region serves up delicious local cuisine and wine for you to enjoy in the typical unhurried and relaxed atmosphere of a Skedaddle trip.
