Holiday Information

Our most challenging road cycling weekend in the UK takes place in the stunning Lake District. Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott and Wrynose are the 6 most notorious passes in the Lake District National Park and the basis for one of the toughest cycle sportive events in the UK, the Fred Whitton Challenge.
Whilst participants in the Fred Whitton Challenge will tackle all of these in a single 112 mile day, our place to place weekend gives you 2 whole days to enjoy some superb and challenging riding. This trip is designed with climbers and experienced riders in mind and it will suit anyone who likes their riding on the tough side.
Fells, forests, remote lakeland villages and of course the lakes themselves, create a stunning backdrop for some of the best riding to be had without leaving our shores. This is dramatic riding in a dramatic landscape and it really doesn’t get much better.
The daily distances are split so that the Saturday is the longest day, but the most challenging climbing is on the Sunday, with a fast and exhilarating descent to finish the day. The Lake District offers many miles of fantastic road cycling and there’s plenty more to choose from for riders in need of an extra loop or two!
For those cyclists who are new to road cycling, or those who have been off the road bike for a while, you may want to first try out one of our introductory weekends which we offer in both the Chilterns and in the Lake District.
Each of our road weekends are kept specifically small at between 6 to 14 riders enabling us to cater for different fitness and riding experience levels within the group. If you don't have a bike (or simply don't fancy washing it at the end of the weekend!), then we've got good quality bikes for hire. We'll even put on your own special weekend if there is a group of you and our dates just don't fit!
