Overall a really excellent experience
Same as last time with Saddle Skedaddle but even better in some respects. Guides made it a very personal experience, and we were lucky with the group as well. Also Spain is unbelievable value for money. Great hotels / places to stay and inexpensive dinners! Again, clearly the routes and logistics had all been researched with care and attention. Both our guides enjoy what they do, and do it very well.
Dan really knows how to make a Skedaddle trip memorable – he faced quite a challenge to enable a fairly diverse group enjoy so much both the riding and the social element that makes up any Skedaddle trip – great balancing act. Overall I would say 3rd Day from Sos del Rey to Loarre was excellent (with great a brilliant initial climb out, lovely undulating terrain to follow, a fast down and a great swim) although the penultimate day with a beautiful climb to Monserrat to finish the day was also excellent.
Fantastic trip, good group of people who got on well....
The cycling was superb on quiet, well surfaced roads and very well led by Dan, Stuart and Andy. This was my fifth trip and the lunches were the best yet, Stuarts steaks were fantastic! I knew Dan from a previous trip, he is always chilled and works very hard to ensure 14 people are fully catered for and enjoy their trip.
All of the days provided great cycling with good traffic free roads, reaching Monserrat was perhaps unique because of its location but other places we visited were also fascinating. John and Sabina were superb, they were of the exceptionally high standard that we have come to recognise from Skedaddle guides.
Dan and his team did a great job...
Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The cooked lunches far exceeded my expectations – impressive. The last day was my favourite! Seriously though, I think they were all very good, as a result of the excellent route taken, hard to fault Dan’s commitment to a successful trip.
Amazing picnic lunches provided...
Os de Balaguer to Oliana was my favourite day – a well situated abandoned petrol station provided timely shelter from a shower for the usual excellent picnic lunch. Despite going off course and having to retrace back up a hill, the subsequent run in to the finish was wonderful. Our tour leader Dan provided good information about route. He was knowledgeable about the area and people and a strong cyclist!
