Find Your Perfect Giro-Inspired Tour

There aren’t many sports that allow you to follow in the footsteps (or is that wheel tracks?) of your professional heroes quite like cycling, as you hop on your bike and experience some of the world’s most famous roads and mountain climbs. With the Giro d’Italia commencing this weekend, here’s how you can plan your own Giro-inspired tour in Italy with Skedaddle.

Our road cycling holidays in Italy cover a range of riding levels so whether you’re ready to conquer monster climbs of the Dolomites or prefer a more forgiving route through serene landscapes, we have something that’s just right for you.

Giants of the Giro

Get ready to take on the legendary climbs of the Giro d’Italia on our most challenging Italian road cycling tour. The fearsome Stelvio, Mortirolo and Monte Grappa are steeped in racing history and all three feature in this year’s Giro. Come and experience them for yourself on this epic tour into the mighty Dolomites!

Dolomiti Discoverer

The perfect tour if you’re a regular road cyclist seeking a taste of the Giro but don’t have much experience of riding big mountain passes. Our carefully-crafted route promises spectacular scenery, beautiful roads and, of course, famous climbs of the Giro d’Italia, including the legendary Passo Sella, which features in this year’s race.

Lakes of Lombardia

The Lombardy region often features in the Giro d’Italia but is perhaps best known in professional cycling for the Tour of Lombardy. If you want to soak in the sights of the pristine lakes and alpine foothills without the big mountain climbs of the race route, then you’ll love this mid-grade tour.

Prosecco Hills

A gentler-paced tour that meanders along quiet roads through lush vineyards and rolling hills, littered with castles. This beautiful region of the Venetian Prealps features in the Giro d’Italia but whilst the professionals tackle the mighty Monte Grappa, we’ll be admiring the views from the foothills. Also available as a self-guided trip.

Giro Della Toscana

Explore one of Italy’s premier cycling destinations, Tuscany, with its rolling hills, cypress trees and medieval hilltop towns. This mid-grade tour also gives you the chance to sample some short sections of Strade Bianche riding. Self-guided options also available.
