Holiday Information

This superb road cycling tour traverses east to west through the stunning mountain ranges of the Spanish region of Andalucia.
Following the arc of the Mediterranean, our cycling route begins on the beautiful volcanic coastline of the Cabo de Gata. Leaving the clear waters of the Mediterranean and sweeping golden sands behind us we head into the mountains of Andalucía. We’ll ride through the dramatic, inhospitable ‘badlands’ of the Tabernas desert, once the favoured backdrop of western films, before we climb onto the slopes of the Sierra Nevada, the highest mountain range in southern Spain.
Challenging climbs and exhilarating descents connect traditional Andalucían villages where it seems that time has been standing still for centuries. From here we head into the Sierra Tejeda and the El Torcal Nature reserve, famous for its extraordinary rock formations.
Midpoint of the tour and we reach the towering walls of the El Chorro Gorge, the Puerto de los Vientos, from where we can look down on the beautiful town of Ronda and its surrounding sierras.
Picking our way through the region’s beautiful limestone peaks we’re privileged to spend the night in Grazalema, one of Andalusia’s famed 'pueblos blancos' nestling beneath towering rocks. At over 800m above sea level Grazalema offers us a fantastic finale as we descend into vast cork clad hills and down to the pristine sands at the historical Cape Trafalgar.
This is Andalucia at its very best and whilst a challenging journey of nearly 700km it takes in the most beautiful scenery that southern Spain has to offer.
