Itinerary
- Meals: Dinner
On the first day you’ll arrive into the historic, coastal town of Trogir. Embarkation time aboard your first class yacht is between 14:00 and 14:30, with 15:00 marking the start of our journey as we set sail to Hvar Island.
One of the oldest towns in Europe, Stari Grad was founded in 384 BC by the ancient Greeks, and is the second largest settlement on the Island of Hvar. Here we have time to soak up the relaxed and cultured atmosphere and enjoy Hvar at a more leisurely pace. Tonight we will stay overnight in Stari Grad.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
This morning we will set off on our first cycling adventure, leading us through practically traffic free roads and idyllically positioned villages. Hvar island is home to beautiful lavender fields so keep your eyes (and nose!) open and be sure to stop and take in the aromas. We’ll visit the magnificent Renaissance Square and enjoy the sights up to the Spanish Fortress, situated high above the city.
We’ll then hop back on board and cross over to Vis Island where we’ll stay overnight.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
We’ll spend today exploring the Island of Vis, the furthermost island from mainland Croatia and the most intriguing. The Greek colony, Issa, arrived on the island 2,300 years ago. Due to its strategic location it was a military zone in WWII and was closed off from foreign tourists during the 1950’s right up until 1989. Today we’ll have the opportunity to explore this extraordinary island by bicycle.
If you are a wine lover you may be interested to know that Vis has its own distinct grape, the Vugava, a white varietal that’s been cultivated here since ancient times. The boat will then take us to the Island of Korcula where we’ll reside in the deep sheltered bay of Vela Luka overnight.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Today we’ll discover the island of Korcula by bike whilst working up an appetite! The rewards for the week’s longest ride will be plentiful as we get to enjoy a well deserved lunch at one of the local restaurants, where we can taste some Dalmatian specialties. The calmness and remoteness of the vast vegetation and cypress gardens have given shape to possibly the most beautiful Dalmatian island.
Enjoy the sights of the vineyards and olive groves as our route leads us past the village of Blato which, like ancient Rome, was built on seven hills. Cycling onwards along a pass road across Pupnat bay, we’ll finally reach Korcula town. We’ll have time here to take a walk through the medieval walled town with its narrow, fish-bone like, alleyways.
There is a local legend that Marco Polo was born in Korcula Town and Marco Polo’s alleged house of birth is worth visiting!
- Meals: Breakfast, dinner
We’ll take a gentle cruise to the island of Brac this morning, famous for its white pebble beaches and shining white marble rock (used for the Reichstag in Berlin and some sources even say the White House). After a refreshing dip in the sea, we’ll start our cycle tour from Sumartin; the route leads us through Selca and onto the picturesque harbouring town of Pucisca, which is our haven for the night. The harbour is home to one of the most famous masonry schools in Croatia, and the students’ creations decorate the harbour village.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
We’ll enjoy a relaxing breakfast as we make the short crossing to Omiš. As we cycle from Omiš through the valley of the Cetina River, we’ll take a moment to take in our surroundings of sparkling freshwater rivers and impressive rugged cliffs.
Today you’ll have a choice; either to take part in a rafting tour on the Cetina River (not included in the tour price) or, if you don’t fancy rafting and want to stick with your two wheeled steed, you will cycle the outskirts of the canyon with great views over the river and back down towards the sea.The rafting group will be picked up from the boat by a bus and are taken up river to the starting point. From here we follow the river downstream in the rafts gaining a unique perspective of the canyon and its flora and fauna. Participants of the rafting trip are brought back to the boat in the bus after the activity.
In the afternoon our ship will take us to Split. The old town of Split, built adjoining the famous palace of the Roman Caesar Diocletian, is a world heritage site.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
After crossing over to Rogac, on the Island of Solta, we’ll start our final ride. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line the roads. The herbal smell of rosemary accompanies us along our tour through this island. Our boat will await us in Rogac and we’ll enjoy our last crossing back to Trogir where, if time permits, we can take a tour of the old town which is a world heritage site.
The last evening aboard our ship, and we’ll continue with our newly found tradition of enjoying a communal dinner in a cosy atmosphere. A final get-together with the crew, tour guides and fellow travelers!

The Cycling
Terrain
The bike routes require a basic level of fitness, which you should have acquired by occasional or daily cycling leading up to the trip. The route reaches altitudes from 656 to 2132 ft / 200 to 650 meters above sea level. The daily routes of 12 to 37.5 mi / 20 to 60 km cover hilly terrain and can be completed without time constraints. You will come across some long climbs, which can be steep in some sections, but walking your bike is of course permitted and unlimited availability on electric bikes should help you up those hills if you’ve opted for this!
The roads are mostly asphalted and there is little traffic outside of holiday periods. Due to short stretches of gravel / dirt road on a couple of tracks along the shoreline, we recommend touring / hybrid bikes and wouldn’t recommend road bikes for these routes.

Leisure Cycling Grade
Distances generally between 20-45 miles / 32-72 kms per day
For the leisure cyclist with a good level of physical fitness
May include some steeper, cheeky climbs and possibly sections of varying terrain (eg. forest tracks, gravel paths etc)
Our grading guidelines have been carefully created based on our many years of cycling experience, as well as customer feedback from our trips. Of course, if you're still struggling to figure out where you fit on the scale, do feel free to give us a quick call and we'll be more than happy to help!
For more information about our grading system click here.
Is this suitable for you?
Although you may not cycle everyday, you do keep yourself relatively fit and maybe enjoy an afternoon out on your bike at the weekend. Your preference is perhaps for flatter terrain but you don’t mind tackling some hills, and the occasional steep climb if you can take it at your own pace. For those happy to tackle some ups and downs, and possibly some sections of varying terrain (eg. forest tracks, gravel paths etc) we’d recommend our grade 3 trips. We’d generally expect those on a Grade 3 holiday to have a decent level of physical fitness and be comfortable with some longer days in the saddle.

Donna, SomersetWe absolutely loved the holiday!Cycling was an excellent way to visit the islands and visit the totally stunning villages. Each climb out of every harbour was rewarded with simply stunning views of the coastline and islands. Swimming from the platform of the boat each day was a highlight and soothed the muscles after cycling. The captain did his utmost to ensure we were in beautiful protected coves, it felt like luxury. The talks provided by the guides were good and a lesson in Croatian was hilarious! We are already planning the next sailing and cycling holiday. Thank you!
Cheryl, CanadaThe best of the best! The holiday was well organized and I felt I had seen lots of hidden places in Croatia. Toni and Ivan were outstanding guides – knowledgeable, dedicated, well-spoken, great senses of humor. The best of the best! Excellent accommodation with clean, well-sized rooms with space to store clothing/luggage, excellent washroom/shower facilities and many places to sit alone or socialize with others. I had never used an e-bike before and chose it because of some recently developed health issues. I found it easy to learn to use and trusted it to “kick in” when needed. It allowed me to have an active biking holiday which I wouldn’t have been able to do with a regular bike.
It is a true holiday when you are relieved of decision making and planning. This tour was very well organized and provided a few options to take if you want. It was an interesting and varied itinerary and I felt I could just follow the plans of the guides and enjoy Croatia without having to make decisions.
Stephen, AustraliaThe views were spectacular...The bathroom was exceptional for a boat and the shower was one of the best we have experienced on sea or land. Our favourite day was Thursday, when I got to try an ebike and was able to keep up with my wife on her ebike, plus the views were spectacular.
