Skedaddle and Sustrans

As part of our commitment to promoting cycling and reducing our impact on the planet, we are working with Sustrans to invest in reducing overall CO2 emissions generated by UK travel.

We have introduced an optional supplement for all our holidays, so that you can now opt to donate to Sustrans and contribute towards improving sustainable transport and reducing carbon emissions in your everyday activities.

In addition to your donations, for every mile a Skedaddle customer cycles on the National Cycle Network on one of our holidays we make a 5p a mile donation to Sustrans. To date we have donated over £11,000 to Sustrans via this scheme.

Fundraising Rides

Each year we hold a series of fundraising rides featuring one of our holidays that use the National Cycle Network. Since 2012 we have helped raised over £6,000 on these challenge rides routes.

2014 sees us celebrating the 20 Year Anniversary of the C2C, with a ride that will take place from 24 to 26 May, with another ride along the Way of the Roses planned in September (date tbc).

Pedal On UK

In 2013 Sustrans and their many partners, completed 84 new walking and cycling routes extending the National Cycle Network into the heart of communities across the UK.

Sustrans asked Skedaddle to provided the routes, guides and logistics for this prestigious event, which ran between 16 August and 07 September. Groups of volunteers and Olympic Games Makers, joined by celebrities and sports stars, took part in the celebration ride which reached over 35 communities in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
