Holiday Information

The regions of Piemonte in Italy called Langhe and Roero have become known as one of the most important wine production areas of the country, for wines such as Barolo, Nebbiolo and Asti. Recently it has hit the spotlight as a niche road cycling destination. Having received the UNESCO World Heritage recognition in 2014, one can understand why. Our road cycling holiday in Piemonte will be like riding through a picture book painting, taking you over rolling hills terraced with vineyards and dense woods, along ondulating ridgelines, past ancient castles and hidden hilltop hamlets.
This cycling trip is a point to point trip but allowing two nights in each location, which means we can head out after breakfast to enjoy a day on the bike, stop and stroll through cobbled stone towns, take time to enjoy a glass of Barolo or Prosecco in one of the small central 'piazzas', without having to pack bags every day or worry about getting to the next accommodation.
Starting in Gavi, this is where Fausto Coppi originated and the roads on which we will ride, Sulle Strade di Fausto Coppi, are where the great man honed his craft in the days before he came to be known internationally as Il Campionissimo, the Champion of Champions. It is a fitting way to mark the start of the holiday. From Gavi to Canelli, on to Cerreto via the Monferrato and the Barolo regions, each day is filled with gorgeous landscapes and things to see and taste.
Accommodation during your journey is a selection of quality, family-run agriturismi and hotels. In September and October it’s harvest time and the colours make the hills and vineyards look like they are painted!
